Surya Soul Improv Class

Service Description

Built upon the philosophical foundations of Tao and Yoga, and integrating various movement disciplines such as Indian Dance & Martial Arts, this weekly gathering uses a somatic framework to encourage each dancer to deeply access the innate wisdom of their body through movement. Class begins with a guided, improv-based warm-up designed to be a meditative practice of continuously coming back into a feeling state, and away from a cognitive thinking state. Classes will also include exercises connected to specific spiritual themes, and celebratory somatic movement. In this space, we will build community through seeing, and being seen, by our fellow movers. Modifications and accommodations are available for all abilities, ages, and body types.
