Service Description

In this class, you have the opportunity to learn from two of our SDDT Company Dancers. Teachers will rotate every 2 weeks. Lauren's Class: Lauren’s class aims to cultivate efficiency, fluidity, and ease of movement in pathways that move through the space and in and out of the floor. Her class usually includes guided or improvisational prompts for centering and warming up, structured exercises for technique building and alignment, and expansive phrasework that often moves between bound and momentum-driven movement. Encouraging joy and curiosity are of particular importance. Gio's Class: Within her movement practice, Gio is interested in exploring the relationship between sustained movement qualities and a “less is more” mentality. Gio’s class will begin with a guided warm up to wake up the body, engage different muscle groups and tap into some foundational modern technique. We’ll move through progressive sequences in the center and across the floor that will build into a phrase at the end of class. Facilitated improvisational exercises may make an appearance throughout to encourage dancer-driven exploration. In this class container, we’ll practice collective presence while honoring our individual authenticities through movement.
