Afro-Contemporary Technique
Service Description
Fast-paced and educational, this Afro-Contemporary dance technique class will challenge participants to engage body, mind, and spirit, learn movement phrases, push beyond “technique,” and to explore their own individual performance choices throughout. Focusing on breath, alignment, rhythm and articulation, this contemporary movement experience will incorporate many influences including post-modern aesthetics, Africanist movement technologies, and contemporary dance techniques with a distinct emphasis on the foundational Katherine Dunham technique.

Cancellation Policy
While it's strongly preferred that you arrive to class on time out of consideration for the instructor and other participants, we have a 10-minute arrival window, meaning that class will be officially closed 10 minutes after the start time. To cancel or reschedule, please log into your account to manage your bookings or contact us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled class to communicate the change. A refund is not guaranteed for cancellations within 24 hours of your class, for no-shows, or in cases of late arrivals that exceed 10 minutes.
