What is Dance Fierce?

Dance Fierce is San Diego Dance Theater’s premier teen dance program that bridges young dancers from our Dance with Me children’s classes to our professional company. We serve the community by offering classes for dancers 12 to 18 years in all levels of proficiency. Our program holds the same values as Dance with Me, where we focus on creativity, rhythm and coordination. Our teens get pre-professional training by learning from our very own company dancers and receiving performing opportunities throughout the year.

Our classes hope to give a safe environment in which teens can develop independence, competence and strong self-esteem, as well as perfect their dancing and performance skills.

Our mission is to provide creative, fun and professional dance classes to teens who love recreational dance and would like to seek further dance opportunities in the future.

Showcase: December 16th

We are offering Contemporary technique and choreography classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Contemporary technique class (45 minutes) will focus on strengthening the student's technique by learning different elements of Contemporary. These classes will NOT perform during the showcase, and will be utilized for technique purposes only.

Contemporary choreography class (45 minutes) is designed to be taken along with Contemporary technique class right before this class. Students in this class will learn one or more dance pieces and will be performed in the student showcase and in other performance opportunities when they arrive.
