Powerful female artists and their works have played an essential role in the evolution of the modern dance art form as a means to create freedom of expression and give voice to the female experience. In an evening of choreographic story telling, strong female characters emerge as Blythe Barton and Zaquia Mahler Salinas explore the female mind and body through today’s contemporary dance lens.

Zaquia and Blythe first paired up at 2014 San Diego International Fringe Festival. Their concert "Perception & Perseverance" was awarded Best Dance Performance and received high accolades in several reviews.

For Muliebrity, Zaquia restages her controversial Fringe work "Hirundea and Her Host" in the intimacy of the White Box. The dancers embody the intensity and extremes of giving and taking, pairing and unpairing with intricate emotions. She also presents a new solo, set on dancer Sulijah Learmont.

Blythe showcases all new work that portrays the complexities of female relationships as dancers interact as individuals and as a community. With a sound scape that varies from intimate singer-songwriter to rippling piano to intensely layered a Capella, the choreography ebbs and flows as the dancers tell movement stories.
