What's New in Outreach

On April 7, 2008, Outreach Teacher, John Diaz, begins a residency at Explorer Elementary School, located just down the street from us (DancePlace), teaching K-6 in their after-school program.

JISDDT company dancer Veronica M. Lamm recently staged Jean Isaacs' "Bolero" for students at the Coronado School of the Arts



Moving Stories: Spring 2008 Performances

"Moving Stories" is San Diego Dance Theater's K-6 educational program designed to teach students about the relationship between literature and movement.

Terry Wilson has been performing, teaching and choreographing in San Diego for the past 17 years. She has enjoyed a long performing career with Jean Isaac's dance companies: Three's Company and Dancers, Isaacs, McCaleb and Dancers, and Jean Isaac's San Diego Dance Theatre. Terry's teaching experience includes many years of teaching in the community, throughout Europe and Mexico and she is currently teaching at UCSD and San Diego City College. Terry also enjoys teaching children and has taught for City Moves! since 1991. She recently developed a two year pilot program for VAPA integrating dance curriculum with State educational standards for kindergarten age students. In 2005 Terry became San Diego Dance Theater's educational director. Jean Isaacs and Terry Wilson have collaborated on the highly successful children's dance program, "Moving Stories" which premiered early in 2005 at Sunset View Elementary and Aviara Oaks Middle School. Terry holds an MFA in dance from the University of Michigan, and a BS in Psychology from SDSU.



Ramona For Arts Unlimited

Carrie Prince and JISDDT company teacher Minaqua McPherson will teach children and adults in Ramona for Arts Unlimited from July 7 til 26th. This marks our 25th year providing Dance Programming for the residents of Ramona. And our series of 4 master classes dubbed The Ramona Project, is well underway. Erica Buecher launched the series with 28 students in March 2008.
